SOSCH are delighted to introduce two new appointments to the Team – Business Manager, Caroline Part and Community-led Housing Coordinator, Alison Gordon.

SOSCH - Alison Gordon, Community-Led Housing Coordinator
Alison Gordon, Community-Led Housing Coordinator

Caroline joins the Team after twenty plus years of working within hospitality, and has experience of dealing with all things management from finances to HR and procurement to business development. She brings with her a commercial eye and bags of enthusiasm.

Caroline said,

“To be part of such a grounded and productive organisation as SOSCH feels like a real privilege, and I can’t wait to cement myself as part of the team.”

For Alison, as a native born and bred in Dumfries and Galloway, after studying Town and Country Planning in Glasgow, she returned to the region to work and raise her family. The need for low cost rural housing was the focus of her final year of study.

Alison said,

“I understand the difficulties many have in finding suitable, available and affordable homes within their local communities and the numerous factors that contribute to this. I am immensely excited to be starting at SOSCH, to support local communities through the process of addressing local housing need to provide homes which are economical and suitable for modern day living. Community participation in making change happen to create and maintain vibrant communities is so important”.

Caroline and Alison joined the SOSCH team at the start of September 2021.  Caroline will support the wider team in financial monitoring and reporting, fundraising and business planning.  Alison’s role will be a Job Share with current Community-led Housing Coordinator, Stacy, and they’ll be working together in support of our rural community-led housing projects.
